10th
A nest camera has been placed on the nest tree and some foliage has been removed that was obstructing the nest when viewed from the pier. Unfortunately the disturbance to the nest site has unsettled the female and she has not returned to the nest since the intrusion.
13th
The female has still not returned to the nest or the island. Although the male has returned to the island he hasn’t been observed leaving food in the nest. In order to ensure that the chicks don’t become malnourished The GTE has arranged for climbers to leave food in the nest.
20th
Although the adults haven’t returned to the nest and food is being supplied by The GET, the chicks are growing quickly. The chicks are visible when they stand up in the nest, their plumage has changed and their brown feathers are now visible.
Golden Eagle Trust put up camera at nest site.
